Well, if you are like most, you need a little encouragement about now, and I thought this protein smoothie recipe would help 🙂
Smoothies are a great addition to your healthy lifestyle, they are an easy way to get in a healthy dose of fruits and vegetables in one sitting.
Now, here is my Black & Blue Protein Smoothie Recipe, be sure to Pin It too so that you can make it again and again!
What You Need to Make a Black & Blue Protein Smoothie:
- 10 blackberries
- 20 blueberries
- 5-6 baby carrots
- 4 slices of cucumber
- 1 stalk of celery
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 scoop protein powder – I used unflavored, but vanilla would also be delicious
- 2- 3 ice cubes
- 4 – 6 oz of coconut water – tap water, milk, almond or soy milk would also work fine
How to Make It:
- Place all of the ingredients into your favorite blending device
- Blend until smooth
Here’s why I picked all the of amazing ingredients in this protein smoothie:
Blackberries – They are high in antioxidants and Vitamin C, not to mention they taste great and make your smoothie a rich beautiful color.
Blueberries – These beautiful berries will also give your body an antioxidant boost.
Carrots – The orange powerfood will give you vitamin A and is also linked to preventing cancer, giving you healthier looking skin and aids in digestion.
Cucumbers – These are great for rehydration. Cucumbers are also a great source of vitamin B, so that means they are a natural pick-me-up.
Chia seeds – These little guys are nutritional powerhouses, I add them into every smoothie I make.
Turmeric – Soooo many benefits, but one of the main ones is it helps with inflammation.
Cinnamon – Also many benefits, one of my favorites is that it helps increase your metabolism.
Protein Powder – Helps keep you full longer and makes your smoothie extra creamy.
