Explore Gulfport: Beach, Bazaar, & More!

The City of Gulfport has celebrated over 100 years. It encompasses 3 square miles and approximately 12,100 residents. A welcoming waterfront community surrounded by Boca Ciega Bay, Gulfport had a rich history as a vibrant fishing village. Today, Gulfport is known as a beautiful waterfront city filled with a multitude of artists, restaurants and some of the friendliest people in southern Pinellas County.

The beach, overlooking Boca Ciega Bay, features white sand and calm waters.  Picnicking, volleyball, kid’s areas, bocce ball and more are favorite pastimes here.

Williams Pier is a favored fishing spot

From Gulfport’s website: “Our Clam Bayou Nature Park is a living/breathing estuary full of bird, marine and plant life, and is part of the Great Florida Birding Trail.  Visit Clam Bayou by canoe or kayak, or stroll along walking paths and overlooks.  The simple fun of a stroll through Gulfport’s brick-paved streets is one of the best ways to enjoy the local color of cottages, gardens and people.  Our historic Casino, on the waterfront, offers events and dancing most every night of the week, and is available for your event.  Catherine Hickman Theater hosts popular local and touring productions of plays, musical performances and more.”

Gulfport Beach Bazaar

We have driven to Gulfport Beach time after time, always passing the small shops on the street. One stood out more than the others, Gulfport Beach Bazaar. From the outside it looked like a place to find all things beachy. A few weeks ago my daughter and I finally stopped in. So glad we did! While they had display after display of beach themed items they also had a good selection of shabby chic and vintage. The Beach Bazaar has over 30 vendors with everything from re-purposed furniture, collectibles, and vintage goodies.

“A fun little BAZAAR in a BIZARRE little town!”

This looks like such a nice place to visit! When I first read Gulfport, I immediately thought of Mississippi because I volunteered for the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief team down there.
