Are you still searching for the perfect way to celebrate Father’s Day? It’s quickly approaching and I’m here to help. What better way to treat the special guy in your life than with a delicious meal at Ocean Prime? He will have an unforgettable experience with lasting memories. Ocean Prime is an upscale restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. You will definitely receive first class service.
As one of the best fine dining restaurants in Tampa, I was so excited to try their food. They offer valet service so dad will feel like a celebrity guest. Upon entering, you are greeted with a pleasant smile and friendly hostess. They offer indoor and outdoor seating as well as private rooms. Kal Harris, the general manager, took the time to make sure we were comfortable and got us excited about trying out the menu. He also stopped by throughout the evening to make sure we were enjoying our meal and receiving great service.
Start dad off with a one of their delectable appetizers. My favorite was the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli with Golden Oak Mushrooms. This small bite set the mood for the upcoming dishes. Here’s a good tip that was mentioned by the staff. Dip your bread in the sauce of the ravioli. You will not be disappointed. If he’s a sushi lover, they have a nice selection. I enjoyed the Prime Roll, a tempura shrimp with cream cheese, scallion and beef carpaccio and the Dynamite Roll, a tempura shrimp with spicy mayo and sesame seeds. The presentation of every dish will have your mouth watering and eyes wide with delight.
Most dads enjoy a good steak and Ocean Prime is the place to satisfy your need. You can order a 16-ounce Ribeye by itself or top it with accessories like black truffle butter or garlic shrimp scampi. Chef Adam Polisei will make sure it is cooked to perfection. If dad has any allergies, they are very accommodating. The chef wants to make sure you are satisfied and have a wonderful dining experience. Enjoy the steak with one of their scrumptious side items. My favorite was the Black Truffle Mac & Cheese and Creamed Spinach. In the mood for a cocktail? Try the Berries & Bubbles, a Belvedere Citrus Vodka with marinated blackberries, house made sour, Domaine Chandon Brut and dry ice smoke for an Instagram worthy photo. I also enjoyed the Black Orchid, a great suggestion by the bar tender. In the mood for seafood, they are known for their fresh selections. Try the Chilean Sea Bass with whipped potatoes and champagne truffle sauce or the Blackened Snapper (one of the chef’s favorite). There’s also a special Father’s Day brunch menu if dad has a taste for something else. It features classics like Quiche with fresh fruit, French toast with lemon curd and candied bacon and Smoked Salmon with whipped cream cheese bagel. Don’t forget to try their Blood Orange Mimosa and signature Bloody Mary.
Make sure you save room for dessert. Ocean Prime has an outstanding menu with some heavenly sweet treats. Have you ever had something so good you want each bite to last? Their Ten Layer Carrot Cake with cream cheese icing and pineapple syrup will take you to a level of ecstasy that exceed any other cake you had in your life. The icing is light which make the dessert guilt free. It’s also made fresh in house with so much love that you can taste it in each layer. Dad can also indulge in the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie or the Warm Butter Cake.
Overall, the experience was amazing. Chef Adam Polisei came to our table to ask about dinner and was very friendly. He is an experienced chef and it shows in the meals that are prepared. This is the perfect place to show appreciation to the dad in your life. They do so much and deserve to be spoiled on this special day. Make sure you stop by Ocean Prime to experience a five-star meal and top-notch service. They are located near International Plaza so you can go shopping and continue to celebrate dad.
