Looking for a great family escape that’s budget friendly AND practically stress free? Look no further! LEGOLAND has just opened their brand new Beach Retreat located .5 miles from the Theme Park. I had no idea what to expect as I ventured to Winter Haven, FL with my 3 kids in tow for an overnight visit. Blown away is an understatement!
If you have a LEGO obsessed child or one on the verge of diving into Legos, a trip to LEGOLAND will be a fun one for sure! There are plenty of rides and activities for kids of all ages including a 4D movie theater with multiple show times, a Pirate Themed water ski show also with multiple times, and amusement rides to entertain kids of all ages.
I had my 5 year old, 3 year old, and 6 month old in tow and we had a blast exploring the park. My older two enjoyed a few rides, played on the indoor AC filled room in Duplo Land, and sat buried in a sea of Legos and built to their hearts content.
Parents rejoice! LEGOLAND’s beach retreat is the perfect getaway for families! This resort had parents in mind when creating everything from the horseshoe-shape layout of the bungalows to the sand pit play area by the pool. There’s something for everyone to do!
The Bungalows at the Beach Retreat will comfortably suit a family of 5. The larger than life LEGO sets include 83 bungalows with 166 separate rooms. The rooms feature a king-sized bed for adults, and a separate sleeping quarters for the kids that hosts a bunk bed plus a trundle bed. The children’s room also includes LEGO’s and a small play area on the wall for kids to get creative while they visit. The bathroom is standard, however the toilets are equipped with a bonus smaller seat for little bums and the adjustable and removable shower head for cleaning little ones was awesome! I came home and asked my husband when he could install one for me! Outside the circle of bungalows ~ each
with their own LEGO Minifigure name, is a playset for kids that is in eyesight no matter which bungalow you’re staying in. Perfect for parents who want to sit on the patio of the bungalow an
d watch their little ones play.
Pool and Play
The pool area is a beautiful spot for everyone to enjoy! The zero entry – 4ft deep pool is great for swimmers of all abilities and is filled with oversized foam LEGO’s that float on the water for kids to build and play with. The pool area also has a large quantity of lifejackets for kids to ensure everyone is safe while enjoying the water. To the side and back of the pool is a large sand play area that includes buckets, shovels, corn hole, and a huge playground area. Again, with parents in mind, you can relax by the pool on all sides and your children will always be in eyesight.
The lighthouse is the central location for all things food, drink, and shopping. Meals were setup buffet style and the bar included a great drink and appetizer menu. In the lobby area of the lighthouse is a huge LEGO building station where kids can play while their parents eat or grab a drink. The food quality was excellent and they had many options for all to choose from. My one suggestion was to provide labels for each of the food items for families with any dietary restrictions.
Overall, my kids each gave the resort 2 thumbs up and I couldn’t agree more. I even told my husband that I would spend a weekend away at the Beach Retreat and not even leave to go anywhere else we had that much fun! Make sure to check it out soon and tell them Tampa Bay Mom’s Blog sent you!!!
