Friday, February 17th

Baby/Toddler Programs at Hillsborough County Public Libraries

Baby Time, Motion Commotion, Toddler Time, Jump, Jive And Jam!, Story Time, Alphabet Club, Movin’ and Groovin’, Baby & Toddler Yoga, Wee Artists, Bilingual Story Time, and Baby Sign Language. These are just a few of the 30 minute pre-school activities provided by your local library. Please visit the Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative website to find the location and time most convenient for you. Daily programs vary by location. Check it out and find some hands on fun with your little ones!

Engineering EXPO 2017 – Elemental: Properties of the Universe

USF’s ENgineering EXPO seeks to educate K-12 students over the importance of math, science, engineering, and technology within their lives. Engineering EXPO is a free two day event where we invite YOU to meet and talk with Tampa Bay’s local engineers and USF’s student engineering organizations. Expo features hands-on exhibitions that encourage students to pursue the sciences, mathematics, and most importantly engineering! This is a FREE EVENT, welcoming ALL AGES to come to the University of South Florida to enjoy interactive activities, educational shows, and hands-on exhibits.

Time: 9:00 am –  4:00 pm

The Florida State Fair

The Florida State Fair attracts up to 500,000 people in twelve days. Each year Florida residents create exhibits for Aquaculture, Horticulture, Woodcarving, Needlework and more. The Midway rides provide our visitors with all the thrills and chills they’ve come to expect. As the first State Fair of the year, we get all the latest and greatest in Fair foods such as the Pizza Cone, Redneck Burger, Bacon Ice Cream, and more! It’s affordable family fun at its best. Nobody does it better than the Florida State Fair!

Saturday, February 18th

Rock Dog Tour Bus

 

The Tour Bus will feature film creative on the exterior of the bus and a traveling musician will teach kids about music! Visitors can also view special content from the film, receive Rock Dog surprise gifts and much more!

Hockey Day in Tampa Bay

For the first time ever on Hockey Day in Tampa Bay, the Lightning Alumni, featuring former captain Dave Andreychuk, will take on the Boston Bruins Alumni, featuring Ray Bourque.

The day will conclude with the Lightning High School Hockey Championship game.

Time: 9:00 am –  9:00 pm

Location:  Amalie Arena 401 Channelside Dr, Tampa

Cost: $10 in advance on-line, $15 if purchased the day of the event.

Bay Area Renaissance Festival

 

Take a time-travel adventure into the 16th century at the annual Bay Area Renaissance Festival! Join our Queen in a jubilee! Journey back in time as more than 100 merchants contribute to the atmosphere of this charming 16th century village. Experience live armored jousting, 12 stages of entertainment, 7 theme weekends, and fun and food for the whole family! The Festival is open weekends, with a special day for schools and seniors on Festival Friday, March 31st, 2017. The Festival is open Rain or Shine. Parking at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival is always free! Discount tickets are available at participating Walgreens stores and at MOSI.

Micheals Kids Club Saturday Crafts

Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick project. New craft project each week. Sign up in store, online or just drop in. Parent or guardian must remain on premises. Supplies are included. Please see website to find a location near you.

Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live

It may have been 65 million years in the making, but it was worth the wait. The puppets of Dinosaur Zoo Live are so extraordinarily realistic you may feel the urge to run and hide – but don’t! You won’t want to miss a minute of this fun, unique, entertaining and educational live show. It’s an eye-popping collection of amazinglylife-like dinosaurs and other creatures presented in a theatrical performance that will thrill kids while stimulating their imaginations.

Tampa Stories at Glazer Children’s Museum

The Museum is proud to partner with Tampa-Hillsborough County Library System to bring real stories from some of Tampa’s famous African American citizens. The Library System curated stories from the oral history collection that kids can experience themselves at the Museum in our newest temporary exhibit. Throughout the month GCM will also be honoring the great Ann Lowe and taking on some of her famous dress designs.

Florida Hospital Center Ice Public Skate

The Florida Hospital Center ice Facility offers several public and community oriented programs designed to combine fitness and entertainment for patrons of all ages. Visit our website to see the full public skate calendar!
