I tried to dodge it. Every night I got down on my knees and prayed that somehow my name would not be included.
But there it was.
When Tampabaymomsblog.com posted the lineup for its “10 Days of Treats,” my name was there. My mission – To write about a yummy treat for December 16th. Sigh.
What in the world am I going to do now?!
I barely know where the kitchen is in my house… Let along BAKING something that is not only edible, but creative enough to be included in this fantastic blog.
So… I did what any intelligent woman would do. I went to my husband for help.
“Craigggg…” I purred, in my most seductive voice while wiping the baby’s spit-up off my shoulder.. “I love youuuu!”
After nearly 13 years of marriage… He knew something was up.
First, he asked me how in the heck I got myself involved in a blog that required me to bake.
Second, he laughed for about 15 minutes.
Third, he agreed to help.
Now, my husband makes the best chocolate, peanut butter chip cookies in the universe. It’s the reason I married him. But, that’s not what I was after here..
I was after the Holy Grail of his baking skills — Choco Marsh.
Let me tell you ladies, if you make this for the holidays, you will become the star of any gathering you attend. People you don’t even know will be adding you to their party list just in the mere hope that you bake and bring the Choco Marsh.
It’s that fantastic.
Here’s what you need: 1 package of brownie mix. 1 package of miniature marshmallows. 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips. 1 cup peanut butter. 1 tablespoon of butter. 1 ½ cups of Rice Krispies.
First, make the brownies in a 13 by 9 inch pan. As soon as they’re out of the oven sprinkle all the marshmallows on the hot brownies and stick the pan back in the oven for about 5 minutes.
Then, put the chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in a pot and mix it all together over low heat until the chips are melted. Add the Rice Krispies and mix that up well.
Then, spread the chocolaty mixture over the marshmallow layer. My husband usually puts it in the middle and leaves some marshmallow around the sides of the pan. Prettier that way, he says!
Refrigerate for a couple hours and cut into bars.
Then, sit back and prepare to have the love and compliments shower over you!
I mean, c’mon?! How can this not be great? Chocolate – Goood! Peanut Butter – Gooood! Marshmallows – Gooood!
And here’s the nutritional information according to my husband…
He says since it’s created with so much love, the calories are negated.
I choose to believe him!
